Driveway and garage to be built after compaction. Site / Design Conditions: Patches of filled ground, then dense clays. Proposed Solution / Selected Solution: Drive six MR-1 anchors with one SAR-10A and thimble eye each anchor, held two poles with 16mm 2 x 19 wire clamped with two rope grips at each pole connected to an HDG eye bolt. Anchors: 6 x MANTA RAY® MR-1 Anchor, 6 x SAR 10A Anchor Rod, 6 x Thimble Eye Installation Equipment: LL-1 Load Locker, GPU-18 Power Pack, HB90-14 Hammer, SCG-14. Installation Notes: Engineer specified drive depth of 5m, but owner changed to 2m, because of the costs associated with the original design depth. Good loadings were obtained at 2m depth. (Recommended caution when working between engineers and owners, as the engineer gives the orders, but the owner pays the bill.) |
